Windows Systems Administrator

Location: Onsite - Los Angeles, CA

Ledgent Technology is hiring a Windows Systems Administrator to join our onsite IT team in Los Angeles. In this role, you'll work closely with the MIS Manager and Network Engineer to deploy new systems, resolve complex technical issues, and support infrastructure initiatives. You'll also serve as a Tier 2/3 escalation point for the help desk team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022)
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services
  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability
  • Perform system updates, patches, and backups
  • Implement and enforce security policies
  • Support virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere)
  • Collaborate with IT staff to support enterprise applications
  • Maintain documentation for systems and procedures
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Provide advanced technical support for escalated issues

Required Skills

  • Expertise in Windows Server OS (2016/2019/2022)
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
  • PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Experience with VMware vSphere and virtualization
  • Familiarity with patch management tools (WSUS, SCCM)
  • Proficiency in monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios)
  • Backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam)
  • Endpoint protection and antivirus tools
  • Experience with ITIL-based service management systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE, AZ-104)
  • Experience with Azure AD, Intune, and Microsoft 365
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Exposure to hybrid cloud environments and migrations
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform)
  • Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Awareness of Zero Trust security models
  • Experience with compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOX, ISO 27001, NIST)
  • Familiarity with enterprise storage solutions (NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE)
  • Experience with MDM and endpoint management
  • Strong documentation skills (Confluence, SharePoint, Notion)
  • Ability to lead or contribute to IT projects

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Windows System Administration
